In a coup for the The Victoria Racing Club (VRC), American pop megastar Taylor Swift will headline this year's Melbourne Cup Carnival.

The 10-time Grammy-winning artist is known for hits such as We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together, Shake It Off, Wildest Dreams and new single Lover.

Swift will perform two songs on Melbourne Cup Day Tuesday November 5 in the Mounting Yard at Flemington Racecourse.

It will be Swift's only Australian performance following the release of her seventh album, Lover.

The 2019 Melbourne Cup Carnival begins on Saturday November 2, with AAMI Victoria Derby Day. Lexus Melbourne Cup Day takes place on Tuesday November 5. Tickets here.
