Rooftop Cinema is back, bringing with it a selection of fresh films coupled with old school classics and tributes thrown into the mix. Part one of the season begins in early December and will be the perfect way to kick back, relax and enjoy those balmy nights out.

Those still yet to catch them, David Fincher’s Gone Girl will be launching the season, with Guardians of the Galaxy and Interstellar screening in the first week. There will be tribute screenings for the late comedic greats Robin Williams (Hook) and Rik Mayall (Drop Dead Fred) and as we near Christmas Eve, channel those silly season vibes with Home Alone and Elf.

If you’ve taken part before, you’ll be pleased to know that Rooftop Bingo is on again this year with prizes up for grabs for those paying exceptionally close attention to detail during Labyrinth, Zoolander and The Blues Brothers.

For food and drink, the burger shack at Rooftop Bar will have your needs covered, or alternatively you can grab a seat downstairs at Mesa Verde for Mexican snacks and Melbourne’s largest selection of tequila (but maybe take it easy if you’re serious about the bingo).

The first half of Rooftop Cinema’s 2014/15 summer program runs from December 6 to January 31 at Rooftop Bar on top of Curtin House at 252 Swanston Street, Melbourne. For full program details and ticket bookings head to the website.
