Local act Kllo have a dreamy take on R’n’B featuring slow kicks and claps and sensual vocals from singer Chloe Kaul. Undertones of glitchy beats and clever additions from Simon Lam tie the songs together. Garage and two-step breaks can arrive jubilant but are often underpinned by a sense of yearning. The band has just returned to Australia for the last leg of their Backwater album tour. Lam and Kaul have put together a playlist of the songs that kept them going on their just-completed international tour. Listen to the full playlist here.

Daphni Medellin
We've had this album on repeat the last few weeks. Daphni (a side project by Caribou producer Dan Snaith) is the perfect accompaniment when driving long trips. Dan’s gradual melodic builds don’t ever feel too complicated or over bearing. It’s easy to put this on and have it pleasantly sink into the back of your mind.

Kornel Kovacs Szikra
One of those songs you can listen to in any setting, it can be chilled or really energetic. The top end is lo-fi but the bottom end sounds really smooth. Every sound in the production is incredible. It’s a really cute track.

Frank Ocean Pink + White
Frank has a wonderful imagination, he’s a storyteller and it’s easy to let him rope you in with his words. We listened to this all through our last tour.

Little Dragon Ritual Union
One of our favourite bands of all time. Yukimi Nagano has such a captivating and mesmerising voice. A unique and innovative band that has inspired us immensely through our time as a duo.

Kelela Frontline
Kelela just dropped her album and it’s wonderful. This is perfect for those late-night drives, when you’re in need of some energy to keep you up.

Kllo play the Corner Hotel December 15.
