Win a Double Pass to Now or Never’s Biggest Events

From August 19 to 30, Now or Never returns to transform some of Melbourne’s most iconic spaces with 12 nights of boundary-pushing art, music, technology and ideas. This year’s program spans more than 150 events, with installations, performances and talks taking over venues across Melbourne around the theme, “A Whole New World”.

We’ve teamed up with Now or Never to give away five double passes, each unlocking access to the programs at the Royal Exhibition Building or Melbourne Town Hall.

Experience William Basinski’s overnight ambient performance, Somnia, beneath the Royal Exhibition Building’s dome, or settle in for a celebration of composer Philip Glass with a performance of In the Upper Room by Orchestra Victoria alongside a recital of his Piano Etudes by acclaimed pianist Maki Namekawa. Or opt for the Breath Haus x Now or Never experience, where live music, meditation and a sound bath offer a slower, more immersive way to take in the space.

At Melbourne Town Hall, highlights include Chunky Move’s world-premiere dance work Time Remaining and Revivification, an ambitious exhibition exploring the legacy of experimental composer Alvin Lucier through sound, sculpture and biological material.

Plus, three music nights across the festival’s final weekend: Club Chuleo bring Latinx dancefloor energy to the Town Hall with A.Chal, Slim Soledad, LIZZ, Dinamarca and Zalina on Friday August 28; Finding Figaro take us on an all-night electronic journey with Octave One, Sleep D x Hybrid Man, JNETT and Baby G on Saturday August 29; and the Sunday August 30 Closing Night party sees a collision of industrial force and rhythmic intensity with Robin Fox, MY DISCO, and Jeho Yun + Kyoungjin So. Town Hall will also host a pair of works in partnership with Arts Korea Lab that blend kinetic sculpture and digital installation, plus Robin Fox’s immersive laser-and-sound installation PRESENCE – both free to attend.
