As cinemas across the country are forced to close due to the Covid-19 outbreak, a new drive-in option is about to open in the Docklands.

When it launches in August, Drive-In Movie Club will give us all a way to escape the house and spend time outside, while maintaining a safe social distance from others (except those in the car with us).

It's by the same minds that conjured up Hot Tub Cinema, and there'll be capacity for 100 cars each night during the pop-up's six-night run.

The film program is still to be announced, but organisers promise there'll be some family-friendly flicks on the cards.

Drive-In Movie Club runs from August 18 to 23 at a yet-to-be-announced Docklands location. Earlybird tickets cost $40 per car (for up to five people), and $50 per car thereafter. Find more information and pre-register for tickets here.
