“Join the Kazoo-nity”: Register Now To Be Part of the World’s Largest Kazoo Ensemble – In Melbourne

Has reading the word “kazoo” just unlocked a forgotten primary-school memory? Same.

Next June, Melbourne’s monumental winter arts festival Rising is centring a whole mass-participation event around the buzzy, voice-powered instrument anyone can play.

Called 10,000 Kazoos , it could very well be the world’s largest kazoo ensemble; the current Guinness World Record is held by a group of 5190 kazoo-ers in the UK.

There are a few ways you can get involved with the mighty musical event. Of course, you can register to be part of the ensemble. (Even you, commitment-phobes: there’ll be no rehearsals and no prior practice required – just rock up on the day with your lungs full.)

But you can also put your hand up to host a composition workshop in the lead-up – at schools, community centres and arts organisations across Victoria. Or you can donate to make sure the Rising team can get 10,000 (biodegradable) kazoos into 10,000 hands.
