It was the event everyone was dying to catch. In March, Mecca collaborated with the luxury fragrance house Diptyque to transform the Hot-Listed restaurant Cutler into a Parisian jazz club for one night. And a few lucky Broadsheet Access members got to attend.

It was in celebration of Diptyque’s limited-edition fragrance Orphéon – named after a Parisian jazz bar which Diptyque’s founders often frequented, and inspired by the Saint-Germain quarter in the early 1960s. The heady scent blends tobacco smoke, burnished wood, cedar and juniper berries.

It was lavish as expected. There were live jazz performances, DJs spinning vinyl, and a bespoke menu curated for the occasion. Guests enjoyed endless floating canapés, cheese trolleys and an impressive seafood bar. Plus, they received a fragrance consultation and full-sized bottle of Orphéon before heading home.

Miss out? Head to your local Mecca and try the limited-edition Diptyque scent for yourself.
