Melbourne Zoo's popular summer concert series Zoo Twilights is back and it has just announced the first act. This year, acclaimed singer Cat Power – also known as Chan Marshall – will perform.

The American singer, songwriter and producer returns to Australia after two years. She will be playing songs from her 10th studio album Wanderer, a record Marshall says is an ode to the folk and blues singers that have come before her, and a reflection on her 25-year-long career. Marshall self-produced the record that includes the single Woman featuring pop singer Lana Del Rey. The record also includes a cover of Rihanna's Stay.

The Zoo Twilights concerts have been a huge hit with broadly appealing past line-ups including Cut Copy, Neil Finn and Hiatus Kaiyote.

Cat Power performs on February 9. The full line-up will be revealed on October 24. Zoo Twilights runs from January 25 to March 9, 2018.
