Clover’s deli
Swan Street’s excellent wine bar Clover and Hugo’s Deli a couple blocks down are collaborating this weekend only. Head to the sandwich shop for steak frites in a baguette, with porterhouse, cafe de Paris butter, green sauce, fried capers, comte and, of course, fries. Clover chef Charley Snadden-Wilson is also making a fairy bread pudding cup, filled with woodfired pound cake, quince and vermouth jam, brown butter creme diplomat and nostalgic sprinkles. Yum.

India comes to the NGV
Not India Mahdavi, the acclaimed designer behind the scenography of the gallery’s colourful Pierre Bonnard exhibition, but an explosion of culture, food and heritage from the South Asian country. NGV’s free Indian Community Day, happening on Saturday June 24, includes Bollywood, hip-hop and classical dances, as well as live instrumental performances. Indian creatives such as Masterchef contestant Kishwar Chowdhury, filmmaker Mitu Bhowmick Lange AM, artist Bushra Hasan and photographer Anu Kumar are chatting on a panel hosted by SBS’s Manpreet Singh. And there’ll be free curator tours of the NGV’s South & Southeast Asian Collection throughout the day.
