Australia’s largest official Harry Potter store will open in the basement level of Myer Melbourne on Friday.

Harry Potter at Myer will be the only Australian location to have a Platform 9 3⁄4 replica, where fans can take photos of the spot from which students depart for the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

The 500-square-metre store will stock official Harry Potter merchandise such as costumes, books, toys, stationary, apparel and 20 different character wands.

There will also be a dedicated box office selling tickets to Harry Potter and the Cursed Child – the smash-hit play currently showing at the Princess Theatre.

At 12pm on the store’s opening day, Friday October 18, the play’s cast will perform the musical number Wand Dance outside the store, in Bourke Street Mall. Then on Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 4pm there will be Harry Potter-themed activities in-store including face painting and product demonstrations.

The store will be open until December 2020.
