A Girl Called Jayne is in the central-Elwood location occupied for 25 years by the Turtle Cafe.

Chef Yannick Beaucaine was born in Brazil, studied French cooking and molecular gastronomy in Paris, then worked at Michelin-starred restaurants Le Jules Verne and Chateau des Avenieres. His side gig? Working as a music producer for artists such as Drake (an early mix-tape called Comeback Season) and Gallant, on his debut album, Ology. Beaucaine brings a mix of cuisines to the menu: French, Mediterranean, Japanese, among others.

A Girl Called Jayne serves cocktails and Code Black coffee. Try a strawberry-infused Aperol spritz and a drink called Apple a Day with fresh-pressed apple; fig and cinnamon bitters; agave; lime; and your choice of rum, whisky, gin or vodka.
