Features
Echuca Coffee Roasters is an espresso bar and roastery on High Street. Its entrepreneurial owner Anne McLean also runs St Anne’s Winery, Echuca Farmhouse Cheese and Echuca Chocolate Company.
Since 2012, the cafe has been roasting its own beans in-house on a Diedrich three-kilogram roaster – a small-batch operation that supplies other cafes in the area, too.
The two-room space is kitted out with recycled wooden tables and chairs, and re-used coffee sacks line the bar. Brazilian, Papua New Guinean and Ethiopian beans make up the cafe’s Confluence house blend. The team also roasts single origins from Guatemala, Ethiopia, Sumatra, Papua New Guinea, Brazil and Colombia, as well as a Mexican organic decaf coffee.
There are a couple of sweet treats in the cabinet to pair with your morning coffee, and you can sample the company’s coffee-infused liqueurs and chocolates. The roastery has also collaborated with Echuca’s Bandicoot Brewing on a coffee porter that delivers notes of coffee and chocolate.
