The pickings can be slim when it comes to getting a decent coffee in Melbourne’s Docklands. That’s why when Raj Atwal moved into the precinct, she quickly identified what was missing and decided to fix the problem herself, opening up Halyard Coffee.
The small cafe uses coffee from Clement on an imposing but impressive Spirit Triplette, a serious piece of machinery, which rests on a slick espresso bar.
Working with interior design duo Wonder, the bright cafe sports blonde timber, white vintage-esque chairs and a few nods to the location’s maritime history.
Filtered coffee and a rotating single origins are also on offer, as are sweet treats from Matt Forbes and Candied Bakery. And if coffee isn’t your bag, you can’t go past the milkshakes.
