Features
Sometimes wine bars do too much. Flashy fit-outs, loud playlists and complicated menus can distract from the point: the wine. Little House is the kind of understated yet playful venue that usually only comes from people who’ve spent enough time in hospitality to know how to strike the perfect balance between those qualities.
The menu walks the line between polished and comforting. Brick chicken lands neatly in there: crispy skin, sticky eucalyptus honey and the citrussy lift of lemon myrtle. You’ll also find smaller plates along the lines of roasted scallops in hen’s jus, or suppli – deep-fried Roman rice balls.
The drinks list is designed with the same ethos. Victorian producers make up the bulk of the menu, with international pours from Austria, France and China. There’s also a small, playful cocktail list that changes often.
