Features
Forester's Pub & Dining, the former A Bar Called Barry, has a staggering 32 beers on tap. It's thanks to Russell Griggs, his brothers Stephen and Paul, and sister Alison Clarke.
Together, they also own The Terminus Hotel (not to be confused with the Abbotsford venue of the same name) another other pub instrumental in popularising craft beer in Melbourne.
The interior was re-designed in February 2017. The main room is lined with baroque wallpaper. Leather booths and brass-detailed wooden furniture provide ample seating for groups small and large.
If you're after something more intimate, head for the "secret" rock‘n’roll joint upstairs, Woody's. It's open from 8pm on Fridays and Saturdays and replicates the feel of an American dive bar, complete with Picklebacks.
Pizza is available every night until 2am. The newer menu emphasises better-than-average pub classics brought over from The Terminus, such as flame-grilled steaks and chicken parmas. Or choose between three burgers: beef and bacon, southern fried chicken or falafel.
DJs spin on Friday and Saturday nights.
