Today Melburnians got a glimpse of the fresh new paint job adorning the exterior of Flinders Street Station, with a portion of the scaffolding removed from the station’s south-facing wall.
There has been some dispute over the colour choice on Twitter, with the reveal of a much lighter, brighter and boldly coloured landmark seen as a major deviation from its distinctive yellow.
To date, more than 5000 litres of paint – created specifically to match the building’s original colour scheme – has been used to cover the exterior walls.
