Some people have cows. Others have a wall. After a 35-year Grand Final drought, Tigers supporters are using whatever surface they can find to show their loyalty ahead of Saturday’s big game.

Con Coustas has the Rowena Corner Store, which, as of this morning, is covered in a new mural of Brownlow Medal winner Dustin Martin, painted by artists Danny Awes & Dvate from 90 Degrees Graphic Artists.

It was only a matter of time.

Dusty joins a long and distinguished line of celebs who have been immortalised on Melbourne brick this year, including Queen B and twins, Jerry Seinfeld and top chefs including Heston Blumenthal and Massimo Bottura.

“We are die-hard fans down here at Rowena,” says the Richmond cafe’s manager, Nathalie Dumont. “It's kind of hard not to be when we are regularly caffeinating the Richmond team and staff. Dusty has been unbelievable this year.

“Richmond is absolutely heaving with Tiger love this week, it's the only thing anybody can talk about. And we are certainly among them. But with the excitement comes anticipation, so we are holding our breath for Saturday. Fingers crossed.”

If Melbourne’s resident pop-culture mural-maker, Lushsux, is reading – we’d like to request another mural, please, this time capturing one of Dusty’s classic fend offs. Or, hopefully, one of him hoisting up that famous silver cup.

Until then, we’ll be here listening to the Richmond theme song on repeat, just like everyone else in Australia, apparently.
