A burst water pipe on Normandy Road in South Melbourne is causing major traffic delays, with the knock-on effects expected to last through Wednesday’s peak hour.
At the time of publishing, south-bound lanes on Montague Street are closed between the West Gate Freeway and Normandy Road while a South East Water crew fixes the pipe (which burst around 1am), and clears mud and silt from the road.
VicTraffic advises drivers should allow extra time, and should not try to enter the closed road. Instead, use the West Gate Freeway and exit at Power Street, or take another alternate route.
