Just after midday on Thursday a tiger snake was found kerbside on Spencer Street near Collins Street.
In a video shared to the City of Melbourne Facebook page the snake catcher charged with rescuing the snake explains it may have been attracted to the busy area by rodents.
“He could have hitchhiked in, come up the Yarra, come up the drains,” says the snake catcher. Interestingly, he doesn’t mention the possibility of the snake catching a V/Line from Castlemaine.
Sadly it appears the snake may have sustained some injuries on its city excursion, but is being taken to the vet for a check-up.
