A portion of Spencer Street in the city centre has been closed temporarily due to a crane breakdown with cargo overhead.
VicTraffic reports that all lanes on Spencer Street are closed between Lonsdale and La Trobe Streets. Works are expected to take at least two hours and may affect the afternoon rush. Footpaths in the area have also been closed off, according to 3AW.
Motorists are advised to use King Street and Wurundjeri Way as alternative routes. Police are also present at the scene to redirect traffic flow.
