If you’re often the person yelling at people to move down the train carriage, your frustration levels might soon be significantly reduced.

New peak-hour morning and evening train services are being added to the Craigieburn, Sunbury and Werribee lines.

Minister for Public Transport Jacinta Allan announced today there will be 30 new train services a week. The new timetable will come into effect on August 27.

Commuters using the Altona Loop should be especially pleased: 37 daily services (that previously finished at Newport) are being extended. There will also be extensions to two peak services on the Hurstbridge line.

The Andrews Government has said the new services will create room for 27,000 extra passengers.

The new train timetables will be available in July at ptv.vic.gov.au.
