From 11.59pm on Friday January 22, Melbourne’s home gathering limits are changing.

In a press conference on Friday, Premier Daniel Andrews announced that the city would be reverting to the rules that were in place over Christmas, after the state recorded no additional cases for 16 days.

Thirty people will now be able to gather in a home, instead of the 15-person cap that was previously in place.

But Andrews reinforced the importance of staying aware. “Any event – whether it’s at your home or out at a venue – needs to be Covid-safe,” he said.
