A couple of weeks ago, to celebrate its 60th birthday, Guide Dogs Victoria announced it had partnered with Public Transport Victoria for a "puppy tram": a special, one-day-only tram that was going to travel around the city with a bunch of canine guests aboard.
Due to weather and other circumstances, the puppy tram had to be postponed. But your Monday just got better – it's happening today.
Today, on-board tram number 3536, there will be two ambassador dogs ready for cuddles. The dogs will be looked after by Guide Dogs staff, who will also be handing out special 60th birthday treats to commuters.
You can track the puppy tram on the Tram Tracker app. It's tram number 3536 on Route 5.
Over 60 years, Guide Dogs Victoria has bred more than 8000 puppies, helping thousands of people who suffer from low vision or blindness. Currently, there are 150 guide dog puppies being raised in homes across Victoria (and the organisation is looking for homes for another 30 new puppies right now).
