The city’s free tram zone will again be extended to include the MCG this Grand Final Saturday, covering stops on Wellington Parade, and at Rod Laver Arena, the MCG and Hisense Arena. The expanded free zone will begin on Wednesday and run through Saturday, covering Friday and the Grand Final parade.

Tram and train fares will also be capped at $6 for those travelling in zones 1 and 2 on Grand Final day.

The government has announced 41 extra metro train services and more than 180 extra trams added to the standard Saturday roster. There will also be more capacity on regional train lines.

In addition to roughly 100,000 people heading to the MCG on Saturday, the government expects another 40,000 Tiger fans at Punt Road Oval.
