The CDC Victoria bus driver strike that began on Tuesday this week will continue on Friday. All CDC bus services in Melbourne’s Eastern and Western suburbs as well as services in Geelong and Ballarat will be affected.

Bus route 400 from Sunshine will run as scheduled.

The fresh round of strikes on Friday will take place between 2pm and 6pm. No services will run during this time, creating problems for commuters during the Friday commute home. Tuesday’s strike covered the full day of bus services.

Bus drivers led by the Transport Workers Union (TWU) have been unable to come to an agreement over a pay dispute with bus company CDC Victoria. On Monday, TWU Victorian branch secretary John Berger told Broadsheet further strikes are planned for Monday if an agreement hasn’t been made.

The TWU is seeking a four per cent wage increase and one per cent super increase, but have only been offered a 2.5 per cent wage increase according to the TWU.

CDC Victoria is encouraging passengers to seek alternative transport arrangements and allow extra time to travel. Non-CDC bus services will not be affected.
