There was a fire early this morning in an upstairs office at the popular Brunswick Street bar Bimbo Deluxe.
The bar has become a Fitzroy institution, known for its cheap pizza deals.
The Metropolitan Fire Brigade was called to the scene – where flames were spilling out of second-floor windows – at about 1.08am and arrived at 1.11am.

SIGN UPIt took about 25 minutes and the work of two dozen firefighters to bring the fire under control. The Metropolitan told Broadsheet the blaze was contained to one upstairs room of the building. “Firefighters worked quickly and managed to contain the fire to one upstairs room of the building," a spokesperson said.
Thankfully the bar was closed at the time and no injuries were reported. The full extent of the damage is unknown at this stage.
Victoria Police and Ambulance Victoria also attended the scene.
