Another Bus Just Hit the Montague Street Bridge

Someone turn that counter back to zero.

Four days since we published a story about a new website that counts the days since the Montague Street Bridge was last hit, the Montague Street Bridge has been hit. Again.

A Melbourne Metro bus crashed into the South Melbourne bridge at about 2pm today. There have been no reports of injuries.

The three-metre-high bridge has become a local phenomenon for the frequency in which large vehicles repeatedly misjudge its height and smash into it.

This is the sixth reported incident in 44 days. The bridge has been hit close to 100 times in the past six years.
