Rice Paper Scissors is a vibrant Southeast Asian diner with two locations: Brunswick Street in Fitzroy and this more compact counterpart on busy Hardware Lane.

The menu takes influence primarily from Thailand but occasionally dips into Vietnam, Cambodia and other surrounding countries. Expect fun, shareable plates such as snapper ceviche, Thai fried chicken with sriracha mayo and steamed pork buns with pickled cucumber. Substantial curries could include beef cheek massaman or pork belly in tamarind caramel.

Drinks take a similar approach. About 15 wines cover aromatic and lightly savoury styles, while cocktails are bold, fresh and fun by way of lychee Mojito, lemongrass Tom Collins and a Vietnamese Espresso Martini with condensed milk.
