New and neighbourhood favourite on the Hot List
Features
This heritage-listed pub, which dates back to 1870, was most recently touched up in 2026. Rest easy: most of the ground floor still has the traditional pub charm you’re looking for. The front bar has TVs, high-top tables, 10 beers on tap and a 400-bottle wine list that leans local, with select old-world bottles.
Head to the rear dining room for a serious steak menu featuring about nine cuts, all dry-aged on-site. Each is served with handcut chips and a choice of pepper sauce, bearnaise, red wine jus, cafe de Paris butter or chimichurri. In addition to steak, there’s beer-battered fish’n’chips, roast chicken and a cheeseburger.
Two upstairs spaces are used for private events, plus monthly comedy nights and tastings with local winemakers. There’s also a peach-coloured outdoor terrace on the second floor with room for about 35 people.
