Young Bloods Diner
When Fitzroy’s Rose Street Artists’ Market reached 10 years of age, brothers and market owners Adam and Christian Ferrante decided to mark the occasion by opening a bright cafe, Young Bloods Diner, on the same block.
Head chef Sascha Randle (ex-Builders Arms) created a menu that plays on classic dishes with a refined twist. Their signature breakfast dish is old-school coddled eggs served a variety of unusual, optional sides including Ortiz anchovy and parmesan or confit duck and beans.
The cafe is split into three zones – the main dining room, courtyard and the rooftop –mixing clean lines and yellow subway tiles with more rustic edges such as exposed steel beams and aluminium.
Employing in-house coffee roasters, Young Bloods will be using their own house blend and single origin varieties in an effort to satisfy the serious sippers.
The real gem here is the 50-seater indoor-outdoor rooftop area, which offers a lot more casual space than the main dining room and utilises views over the market and Fitzroy. So if it’s sunny out, make sure you take a seat upstairs.
