The Mabel may look a bit like your great aunt’s home in the sticks, but there’s more than just fresh cakes and scones going on here.

Husband and wife owners Tim Campbell and Nicole Arnup have nearly 20 years’ experience in hospitality. Their refined menu includes smashed avo with potato rosti, grilled sourdough, roast pepper and legume salsa. And a green bowl with asparagus, kale, cabbage, mushrooms, sesame seeds, pumpkin seeds and miso dressing.

For something lighter, grab a housemade muffin, brownie or pastry and pair with a Jasper Coffee blend.

The space is filled with recycled church furniture and other items collected by the couple in and around their home in Healesville. With an old-school record player, polished concrete floors and even its very own hand-designed menu font, The Mabel maintains the feeling of home, without sacrificing in terms of quality.
