Lalitha Rajan quit an office job to open Tadka Boom! with her family in late 2014. It's fast, healthy Indian restaurant with a colourful, modernist streak.
To start, nibble on the spherical spinach and onion fritters known as pakora. In summer, it’s all about the light and textural bhel puri salad. It mixes roasted sweet potato with puffed rice and fine chickpea noodles to deliver a delicate balance of sweet and spice with every bite.
Curries are served with brown basmati rice. Butter chicken still tastes creamy but not too rich, as the kitchen goes easy on the butter and uses cashew cream instead of sugar. The signature 15-hour slow-cooked lamb is infused with a gentle amount of spices.
Finish your lunch with an authentic and refreshing mango lassi.
