Growing up as an elite gymnast, a healthy lifestyle was key for Soul Press owner Dior Drummond. At home, she followed a mainly organic, plant-based diet to help her perform at her best.
When a corporate job failed to excite, it seemed only natural to start studying nutrition and turn her lifestyle into a career. Disappointed by the lack of healthy food in her area, she opened Soul Press Edithvale in 2014. The second Soul Press, run by her sister Brittany, opened in Brighton four months later.
The fresh white interiors are dotted with greenery. Earthy timber counters add to the natural look. Superfood smoothies, pressed juices and bowls topped with paleo muesli, caramelised buckinis and bliss balls make up the main menus. Fridges offer pre-packed salads, chia puddings and kombucha to takeaway. A date and caramel “Golden Gaytime” sits among a variety of raw cakes.
The stores offer a range of products for home, stocking Pana Chocolate, Loving Earth nut butters and grab-n-go tubes filled with nut mixes and coconut chips.
