Ray's Cafe

This graffiti- and stencil-adorned, signless Brunswick institution is famous for being the first cafe opened by Mark Dundon, since responsible for Brother Baba Budan, Seven Seeds and others.

The place has changed owners but lost none of its charm. Much like Sydney road itself, Ray’s is buzzing at all times of the day. It's a melting pot of local kids, young parents with prams and the culturally diverse inhabitants of Brunswick.

These folk cram around communal table or hide away in the back for a private conversation, but an Atomica coffee is never far away. Ray's three-group La Marzocco Linea machine busts out a steady stream of goodness.

The hearty and extensive food menu is heavy on Middle Eastern influences, with the labneh and haloumi highlights. Later in the day, get your hands on a Bloody Mary, or choose from the small selection of beer and cider.
