Menu - Mr Yum

Prospectors of the good brew in Camberwell should dig no further than this cafe. With grinders burring and the coffee machine purring, the takeaway window on Prospect Hill will pull you in.

On any given day choose from a circulating filter – main stayers include Axil, Code Black and Maker – a single origin, or a house blend. Prospect has its own espresso blend, AU79.

The solid breakfast menu has some clear standouts. Try the white-truffle scramble, or house smoked ocean trout with beetroot, poached eggs and horseradish crème fraiche. Hotcakes or house-made banana bread with hazelnut praline and espresso mascarpone will satisfy sugar-fiends.

A Reuben sandwich and pulled-pork roll are the cornerstones of the lunch menu, which extends to a soup of the day and a selection of panini. Juices, smoothies and milkshakes plus Ruby Chai and Vietnamese coffee complete the drinks menu.

Since 2015 Prospect Espresso has been managed by the Coffee Culture Communication Group, which buys established cafes. Its portfolio includes Addict Food and Coffee, Liar Liar and Sir Charles.
