The Pour Kids
Colourful is the first word that comes to mind in describing The Pour Kids in Malvern. From the full spectrum of multi-coloured chairs to the bright green feature wall, this is one cafe that feels no compulsion to white wash the walls. It’s a nice point of difference to the raw, industrial-inspired trend that most cafes currently follow.
Owners David Ballenger, in the kitchen, and Ryan Storey, behind the coffee machine, are both qualified chefs who have been working in the industry for years. A desire to offer customers something more than just standard cafe food has led to a menu with dishes such as slow-cooked rabbit and deep-fried, crumbed poached eggs alongside more traditional offerings.
All the pastries and sweets are also made onsite and high quality Axil coffee is churned out on the canary yellow La Marzocco machine.
Tucked down Winter Street just off Glenferrie Road this rainbow-coloured cafe is a favourite with local businesses and residents alike.
