Features

The formula is simple at Piper Street Food Co. English- and French-informed goodies are made from scratch, the old-fashioned way. Here, you’ll find traditional pork pies, Cornish pasties, terrines, pâtés, parfaits, sausages and rillettes, as well as a collection of other wholesome nibbles and larder additions made by locals.

Fresh bread is available every Saturday. It’s popular with locals, so get in early and grab a coffee, and maybe some pantry gifts and a picnic hamper for the road.

Piper Street is also a cooking school, with various classes run by co-owner and third-generation chef Damian Sandercock. His classes honour slow, traditional methods and classic European recipes, such as pickling, preserving, curing meats, butchery and handmade pasta and sourdough.

For those interested in the benefits and capabilities of an old AGA cooker, Sandercock and wife Bryanna also take people through an insightful, step-by-step guide on how best to cook with them – a wise investment for an oven that retails around the 20k mark.
