Olive Oil & Butter – it’s a mouthful of a name, but it truly symbolises the cafe’s dedication to using classic, simple ingredients. The family-run space specialises in traditional Greek dishes and pastries, all of which are made in-house. Even the filo pastry is made from scratch.

The extensive range of pastries includes kolokithopita (pumpkin, walnut and raisin swirl), galaktoboureko (house custard in filo pastry), revani (semolina orange cake) and koulouraki, an orange and vanilla biscuit.

The family also puts a twist – quite literally – on the classic meat pie. Using the homemade filo pastry, it’s a spiral created using traditional techniques passed down through generations.

The breakfast and lunch menus include traditional dishes such as tiganites (greek pancakes with pomegranate honey, marsarpone and candied walnuts) and kalamboki (roasted corn polenta with grilled avocado, yiyantes and romesko salsa).

The interior is unassuming, with a white-tile floor and a homey vibe that makes it feel like you’re sitting in your grandmother’s kitchen. There’s seating indoors and outdoors, so you can enjoy your fasolada or bifteki wherever you want.
