Features
Nuvoletta Gelateria’s Vera Teodori started working in Italian gelato shops when she was a teenager. At Nuvoletta, together with her partner Alex Toretto (ex-Gelateria Primavera), the pastry chef is scooping classic Italian-style gelato churned on-site with high-fat Jersey milk, St David Dairy cream, fresh and seasonal fruit and other ingredients made from scratch.
Classic Italian flavours like fior di latte and lemon sorbet (made with freshly squeezed lemons) are scooped from insulated pozzetti tubs. Complex flavours like basil, honey and walnut are also available. To take home, the display cabinet is full of layered dessert cups like strawberry shortcake and lemon tart meringue.
The store is coated in cherry-chocolate red manor steel and cream walls to evoke chocolate and vanilla. Terracotta tiles were chosen to represent Italy, as well as the red Australian earth.
