For Georgia Palmer, Minnie Miny Mo was a little renovation project that would keep her close to home and her kids. As a banker for more than 23 years, opening a cafe was foreign ground. It didn’t take long for the little sandwich bar she found on the corner of Station Street to transform into the thriving neighbourhood cafe she envisioned. And luckily for Georgia, her mum Alexandra and daughter – also named Alexandra – jumped in to work the floor and run the coffee machine.

The former sandwich bar now holds a large selection of daily made sandwiches, tarts, pies and salads that each pair nicely with a Niccolo coffee.

The sit-down breakfast and lunch menu includes herby pumpkin mash with charred kale, creamy Danish feta and poached eggs; and roasted duck salad with watercress, served on a roti pancake.

There are cakes, slices and turnovers, and options that are gluten-free, lactose-free, vegetarian and vegan; the motto here is “something for everyone”.

The cafe is conveniently located directly opposite Moorabbin station and fitted out with fresh, modern decor. Relax indoors or grab your latte and soak up some sun out the front before jumping on the train.
