Lamezleighs opened in July 2017, and the young team behind it plays a strong coffee hand. Beans from Melbourne roaster Zest run through the machine, with both a blend and a rotating single origin on offer, which can be served black or paired with Gippsland Jersey milk.

The kitchen puts out fresh juices, smoothies, smoothie bowls and Hope Farm fruit toast. There’s also a counter cabinet prepped with focaccias, salads and stuffed peppers ready to take away or eat in.

Come lunchtime, you can also choose from the daily specials menu, which features dishes such as soups, sausage rolls, eggplant parma and house-made quiches. In the late afternoon, the flourless carrot cake and Persian love cake beckon to be paired with a calming cup of tea and enjoyed in the cottage garden out the back.

The cafe’s shelves are also an opportunity to showcase regional makers and producers, with Hope Farm bread and Gippsland Free Range Eggs available to take home, along with Hill Top Hives honey, Boolarra jams, Traralgon cider tonic, Barany natural soaps and Finch and Wren teas and candles.
