House of Lulu White
House of Lulu White does a great Beverly Hills Hotel impression, with bright pink walls, palm tree murals and ceiling installations that set a very fun, and very LA Barbie, vibe. Given the indoor tropical scenery, it’s not surprising the ratio of girls to guys in this place is often 7-1. That might also have been the case decades ago, when 4 Yarra Street was home to a brothel, run by the cafe’s namesake.
Today, the Lulu White name is synonymous with a different kind of fun. Noughties hip-hop pumps through the venue and diners clearly aren’t prepared to settle for an LA juice cleanse – drinking is encouraged at this daytime disco. A $30 bottomless brunch package offers unlimited Mimosas, Espresso Martinis and Bloody Marys for 90 minutes.
The menu has a slight Korean slant, with detours such as LA-style breakfast tacos, a Big Kahuna burger and salmon poke.
