Unless its describing coffee blends, it’s rare to see a cafe’s menu list flavours from North Africa, the Middle East and Argentina side by side. But Dip In has much more to offer than coffee.
Dip In’s surprisingly huge space is hidden downstairs in a CBD laneway. The underground dining area is inviting and is decorated with shelves filled with books, handmade wooden furnishings and a vibrant mural.
There are 17 dips made on site, served with house-made bread (which doubles as a dip bowl). The spicy chimichurri recipe was brought to Melbourne from Argentina, the carrot dip is inspired by Morocco and the Biltong paté is from South Africa. Gluten-free bread is delivered each morning from Convent Bakery and a mostly-vegetarian, all-day breakfast and lunch menu means there’s something for everyone.
