There's an elegant simplicity to De Clieu. Everything here feels well polished. The space is named after the French Lieutenant who first introduced coffee to the French colonies in South America, and Market Lane is the cafe's roaster of choice.
While the coffee is important, it’s not necessarily the focus here. The food menu has a strong focus on small, local producers – ultimately, it’s just a really nice place to be. Especially as the space, fitted out by Six Degrees, is characterised by two great big counterweight windows with large wooden sills – perfect for sitting with your legs hanging out into leafy George Street.
