Coffeehead is, unsurprisingly, a coffee-focused venue from Paul Mathis, founder of Blue Train Cafe and Automatic in Southbank, as well as Taxi, Transport, 100 Mile Cafe and SOS. Coffeehead is, surprisingly, in the unlikely coffee hub of Camberwell.

The warehouse space was originally conceived as a storage, office and coffee roasting space, but Mathis quickly saw the opportunity to realize his dream of a retail coffee store. Using the roaster that once sat in the front window of Blue Train, the store sells fresh local boutique coffee in small quantities. The house blend, Coffee 1961, is always on offer, alongside a rotating roster of other blends.

Envisioned as a one-stop shop for good coffee by Mathis, Coffeehead also stocks coffee equipment including coffee-making accessories, cups and saucers, other crockery and coffee gadgets. The store also trades online. Naturally, all coffee, tea and delicacies can be consumed on-site. You can also get hearty breakfast of lunch until 3pm daily.
