Tuesday is doughnut day. That’s the first thing you need to know about Coffee Collective. Second: the coffee and food are really good. Melbourne good. But you’re surrounded by peaceful coastline instead of city chaos.

Five Senses coffee is paired with local Gippy Milk, and Annie’s free-range eggs from Fish Creek top dishes such as eggs Benedict made with slow-cooked ham hock and sage hollandaise. The all-day breakfast menu features popular plates such as the smoked salmon bruschetta topped with lemon ricotta and house-made pickles, and there are often four or five specials per day to really highlight the best of the season.

The cafe keeps a small larder of products from like-minded brands, including Mt Zero olives, Tonemade dehydrated bone broth from Inverloch, Pana Chocolate and local bottles from Dirty Three Wines and The Wine Farm.
