Booze collective Mighty Craft has a number of Aussie brands under its belt, including Richmond’s Brogan’s Way Distillery and the Mornington Peninsula’s Jetty Road Brewery, as well as Kangaroo Island Spirits in South Australia and Slipstream in Queensland. And at this neighbourhood pub, they’re all together in one place.

The Mighty is an all-day gastropub in Moonee Ponds, highlighting Mighty Craft’s portfolio in a light and airy space with room for more than 500 punters.

The Mighty crew took an old Sporting Globe site and transformed it with help from Studio Y, the design firm behind the fit-outs at Nick & Nora’s, Maha Bar, Lume and Black Pearl.

The three-level space is divided into five distinct sections, each with its own design personality. Two olive trees greet you in the atrium, which gets tons of natural light from soaring, double-storey windows. To the left is the public bar, with casual tables for big groups and high seating along a lengthy white-tiled bar. There’s also a retail space where you can shop Mighty’s extensive range of booze to go.

Upstairs is a more tropical affair, with palm-tree patterns, lush greens, rattan furniture and dim lighting to set the mood for a night of cocktails. There’s also a terrace space with a retractable roof for sunny days.

A few steps down from the main room is the bistro, with leather banquette seats creating a more intimate vibe. From here you can peek into the kitchen, where head chef Adrian Corigliano dresses up classic dishes using sophisticated flavour combinations and techniques he learned from his stint as a sous chef at the now-closed Dinner by Heston.
