Fury & Son
“Welcome to the family” is the tagline, and Fury & Son’s brewpub is definitely a family affair.
Father and son Andrew and Reno Georgiou started the brewery in 2016. Andrew’s wife Kat took care of the design and layout of the on-site bar, which opened in 2018. The food offering comes from Kit and Prue Houston, the husband and wife behind barbeque retail business Houston Barbecues.
Fury & Son is classic brewpub. The spacious industrial warehouse is filled with handmade wood tables. At lunchtime it’s full of hungry workers from nearby businesses; at night, the after-work crew is joined by local families and couples.
The smell of smoked meat hits you as soon as you walk in. The menu includes pulled-pork burgers, chicken wings, brisket and short rib.
Beer-wise, the focus is on clean and easy drinking; the core range consists of a pale ale, a pilsner and an IPA. Seasonal offerings include the refreshing Citra Sour and a deftly balanced, smoky and sweet Scotch Ale. It also has two rotating taps to showcase other local breweries – such as Hawkers and Two Birds – and cider from Golden Axe.
