Corner Hotel

10am - 3am
57 Swan Street Richmond
(03) 9427 9198

Just past the corner of Swan Street and Punt road, beneath the train line and next to Richmond station, sits one of Melbourne's most celebrated live music venues. The Corner Hotel, which is also pleasant for a rooftop drink, has a modest band room (and by modest, we mean it holds around 800 punters) that has housed some of the world’s biggest music names, including Mick Jagger, David Gilmour, The White Stripes, Ben Harper, Crowded House and Queens of the Stone Age.

It’s been a live music venue since the 1940s, and its current owners (who are also involved in the Northcote Social Club) have been at the helm for 14 years and counting. The Corner hosts shows at which you’ll be jumping around (and even on stage with the band if you’re lucky), shows where the entire room is seated enjoying the clear view (sometimes on the sticky carpet, sometimes at specially set-up tables), and everything in between.

The Corner Hotel is iconic in Melbourne’s live music scene. Bands clearly love the atmosphere, and fans clearly love the venue; without doubt, if you’re a live music fan in Melbourne you’ll have been there more than once already.
