Features

Arbory Afloat is open again. And this year, it’s had an art deco-meets-Miami Vice makeover.

The menu features Miami and Cuban-inspired dishes such as ceviche, croquetas, and a decadent whole fried lobster for DIY tacos.

For drinks, there’s the usual roster of summer-friendly cocktails. If you truly want to embrace ‘80s Miami excess, there are six magnums of champagne on offer.

An aqua green and pink palette plays well against the all-white furniture. Plenty of greenery such as palms, bougainvillea, two orange trees and hanging plants create a resort atmosphere throughout.

The big draw is upstairs on the second level – an eight by2.5 metre pool, around which you’ll find double bay beds with custom manoeuvrable shades that can be positioned you want to hide from, or be mates with, the sun.

There are also cabanas that can be transformed from a lounging day bed for about eight people into a dining area, thanks to a pop-out middle section. The cabanas are fully enclosed with lights and fans, and awnings can be opened or shut depending on the desired level of privacy.
